I have been reflecting on the rules of the following Pixoto sponsored contests:-
Nature Up Close - The Best Of
Landscapes - The Best Of
Both mimic categories on Pixoto (not allowed under rules for contests)
However, they are time limited so restrict within those categories as to what can be entered (so can be deemed not to mimic?).
Does this mean members can create similar contests by limiting the time period of images submitted to Pixoto?

Hello Michael, rules are for community contests (contests that users make), not Pixoto sponsored contests.
Pixoto user can make similar contests, but they will be delisted for not following rules (they will mimic Pixoto category/subcategory).

If restricting entries based on submission date is a feature you are interested in for community contests, we can look to adding it

Yes, that would be great.
it would enable members to ‘use’ their images again rather than laying ‘dormant’ once daily, weekly etc. contests are over.
Please let me know the outcome of your deliberations.

As an after thought, it would also give the opportunity to images that missed out on the daily, weekly etc. awards to gain an award albeit from a community contest.

I've sponsored contests in the past with submission limits. It is very time consuming for the moderator to not only view the image for general qualifications of the image, but also double check the submission date. I actually had instances of some images being resubmitted to qualify for the contest. That actually surprised me, but I guess it shouldn't have. If Pixoto added a feature that allowed the moderator to set limits to the submission date; and the system would automatically DQ those submitted outside of the parameters of the contest, that would be very helpful.

We can release the ability to both limit the number of submissions and the age of the photo in February.

Does this mean that members will be able to create contests using specific categories as long as they are date limited ?
eg:- Artistic Objects December 2021 - ie only images submitted to that category during December 2021 or 15th December to 31st December 2021 - would both examples be permitted?

No, existing contests creation rules still apply. You will just have the ability to further restrict submissions based by age and number of submissions.
