How do the banners work for best photographers of the year?

I won #1 for Digital Art in 2020, but I don't have a banner on my profile for best photographers of the year.  Just curious how the banners work then.

    Hello Dawn, banners for Best Photographer of the Year is awaded for top 20 contirubutors based on points assigned for awards won for that year.

    Oh OK.  I thought it was for the top winners in each category for the year.

    Ummm - it's  now beginning the 8th month of 2022 - you guys need to do better - this has been an ongoing issue since I joined.

    This is really pathetic. Please describe in detail why it takes 8 months and counting to assign a badge? It seems like you should know the order. Really, please describe the obstacle/s.

    My question, too. It is hard to keep submitting images and keep being enthusiastic, when there aren't a lot of results posted. I like to keep challenging myself to do better--I know it is not up to you, Jasenka! But wondering why it is taking so darned long.  Thanks!

    I was wondering about why I didn't get a best photographer award for 2013. I won #1 for the year in typography. And I did find "best of" awards for that year on another account so they were being assigned.  There should be an award for staying in the #1 position for a bunch of years. (#1,2,3 positions in single letters for 9 years strait!) Photographer of the decade?

    Hello Janna, if I remember correctly, back in 2013 banners for Best Photographer of the Year were awaded for top 20 contirubutors based on average of their top 10 images in category at the time banners were assigned. At the time banners for 2013 were assigned (in 2014) you were not in top 20 contributors for that category, and your profile didn't get badge.
    There is no award for image that stayed longest on #1 place in a category.
