Today I suddenly get about ten complaints about similar images in mostly totally different contests. Some of them a year old or even older.  Well…. How can any user guarantee that he/she not has used similar images or even the same image twice in different contests? Is it even possibly before every submit to scroll maybe thousand or even more images each time or know every submit by heart? If that’s the case I say get real! 

We shall not submit very similar images to one soecific contest, that’s of course an okay rule but to submit similar images to different contests should be another story.

One odd thing is that I got at least ten complaints only today - and I have never got a single complaint about similar images before. So what’s happened?

When it comes to submitting a lot of similar images there are plenty of other contributors you could look into. I say no more…

  Hi Johan, as per our rules: https://www.pixoto.com/photography-competition very similar images are not allowed to be published. If user does publish very similar images, and images are reported they will be removed.

  You don't need to upload another version of same image just to submit it to different contest, you can use already published image and submit that image to as many contests you want (5, 10, 50…. contest).

  But publishing again image that you already have in your portfolio (or image that is very similar to one you already have in your portfolio) will result in deletion of one of the images if image is reported.

  If you see very similar or duplicate images please do report them.

  If you have many images and have trouble finding specific image, you cal always limit your images to specific category or even limit to specific subcategory, that would greatly reduce number of images you need to go through to find image you are looking for.

  So you’re saying that someone went through all my images just to report them…?

  Hi Johan, sorry for delay in reply. We do not disclose who and/or how many people reported somebody's images. But we do encourage users to report images that do not follow Pixoto rules and regulations.

  It would be easy for the management to scroll the leaderboard every day and get rid of all the similars instead of handing over the responsibility to the users. That would be fair.
